AI certification for companies: which certificate your team gets
AI certification for companies: at IAescola each participant gets a certificate of achievement if they pass the assessment, or a certificate of attendance if they do not. It is not a vendor certification with an exam (such as Microsoft AI-901) or a regulated qualification, and we explain the difference so you can choose well. A certificate is not the same as a certification
When a company searches for «AI certification» it usually wants one of three things: to show the team has been trained, to meet what a client or a tender asks for, or to hold a badge the market recognises. Each one has its own route, and mixing them up costs time and money.
This page keeps the routes apart. What we provide, we state as it is; what depends on a vendor or an authority, we say too.
Three things called «AI certification»
It pays to tell them apart before choosing training.
Certificate of achievement or attendance
Issued by whoever delivers the training. It records that the person followed the course and, depending on the programme, completed its practical assessment. This is what IAescola issues.
Certificate or certification from a tech company
Issued by the technology company itself, not by the school. It may require a paid exam, such as Microsoft AI-901 (Azure AI Fundamentals), or be earned at the end of an online course, such as Google AI Essentials (in English, paid). They carry the standing of the brand that issues them.
Official or regulated qualification
Degrees, vocational certificates or other qualifications issued by public authorities or by centres authorised to do so. IAescola training is non-regulated and does not lead to any of them.
What each participant receives with IAescola
Each participant receives from IAescola a certificate of achievement (diploma acreditativo) if they pass the assessment, or a certificate of attendance if they finish without passing it, as Article 7.2 of Royal Decree 694/2017 provides for FUNDAE-funded training. IAescola is entered in the SEPE State Register of Training Entities under no. 9900033425 and is a FUNDAE organising entity. The document records the training followed; it is not a vendor certification or an official degree.
If your team needs a vendor certification, the exam is taken on the vendor's platform and the vendor issues the certificate. Our training provides the practical foundation, but it does not replace the exam or guarantee a pass.
When an attendance certificate is enough and when it is not
If you want the team to use AI well
Practical training and its certificate of achievement or attendance are enough. What counts is what the team can do the following Monday, not the badge.
If a client or a tender asks for a certificate
Read the requirement carefully: does it name a vendor, an exam or a qualification? Each takes a different route, and it is worth knowing before you buy anything.
If you want to claim the training back
The training we deliver as a registered provider is eligible for FUNDAE depending on available credit and applicable requirements. For any other expense, ask us before you pay.
If in doubt, start with shared training
It is a common route: first a training shared by the whole team and, if needed, a specific profile later sits a vendor exam.

If you need a vendor certification
Microsoft AI-901 (Azure AI Fundamentals) is an exam on Azure AI fundamentals, available in Spanish. It replaces AI-900, which was retired on 30 June 2026. Preparation is free and the exam is paid, and Microsoft issues the certificate.
Google AI Essentials is a paid online course in English that ends with a Google certificate. Both are handled directly with the vendor, not through IAescola.

IAescola is an independent training provider: it is not a partner of Microsoft or Google and does not issue their certificates. Microsoft and Google are trademarks of their owners. We recommend whatever fits your case best, whether it is our training or not.
And the AI Act: do you need a certificate?
The EU AI Act (art. 4) asks organisations that use AI to take AI literacy measures for their staff; it does not require them to guarantee a specific level or any particular certificate. A certificate of achievement or attendance helps document those measures because it records the training received, but assessing compliance is up to each organisation, so independent legal advice is advisable.

Frequently asked questions
Is the IAescola certificate equivalent to a Microsoft or Google certification?
No. It is a certificate of achievement or attendance that we issue as a training provider. Microsoft and Google certifications are issued by them, follow their own process and, for Microsoft AI-901, involve a paid exam. Our training does not replace them.
What is the difference between an attendance certificate and a certification with an exam?
The certificate of achievement or attendance is issued by whoever delivers the course and records that you followed it and, for the certificate of achievement, that you passed its assessment. A certification with an exam is issued by a vendor or a body after you pass a test it designs itself. The second proves more because it is assessed externally; neither replaces experience.
What is AI-901 and does it replace AI-900?
AI-901 is the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals exam and replaces AI-900, retired on 30 June 2026. It is available in Spanish, preparation is free and the exam is paid. Microsoft runs and certifies it, not IAescola.
Does the certificate help with AI Act training (art. 4)?
It helps record that staff have received AI training, which is one of the measures art. 4 contemplates. The Regulation does not require a specific certificate and compliance depends on each organisation, so independent legal advice is advisable.
