What most educators already want to do (but don't know how)
Reclaim preparation hours
Creating materials, exercises, presentations, rubrics and exams consumes most non-contact time. AI can generate a first draft in minutes.
Personalise attention
Adapting content to each student's level (remedial, extension, accessibility, language) used to be practically impossible at scale. AI makes it viable.
Preventing misuse
If you don't understand how ChatGPT works, you can't tell good use from misuse, nor teach your students to use it with judgement. Detectors don't solve it: they make too many mistakes. Training does.
What the training covers
Practical programme focused on real classroom work. We test tools, generate materials collaboratively and build AI workflows you can use the next day.
View AI for educators course detailsObjectives: what you will be able to do with AI in class
- Create personalised teaching materials (exercises, exams, rubrics) with AI
- Personalise learning for students with different levels and needs
- Design responsible AI usage policies for the classroom or school
- Automate administrative teaching tasks: lesson plans, minutes, reports
- Assess the process, not just the product, without relying on detectors that are not reliable
Syllabus: what each module covers, indicator by indicator
The course is aligned with the «Competència digital docent en IA» framework published by the Catalan Department of Education in December 2025. Pick a module: the map marks the competences it works on and, alongside, each topic with its framework indicator.

Assessment and certificate
Assessment is practical. Each participant works on their own subject and level, and what they produce during the course is assessed: materials, rubrics or a process-based assessment ready to use in class.
At the end, each participant receives from IAescola a certificate of achievement if they pass the practical assessment, or a certificate of attendance if they do not. IAescola is listed in the SEPE State Register of Training Providers under no. 9900033425. It is non-formal training: it does not lead to an official degree, professional certificate or official academic qualification. If you need it to count towards seniority or other merits, check with your school or education authority first.
Who this training is for

FUNDAE funding for centres with salaried staff
If your educational centre or academy has employees under Spain's general Social Security scheme, the training may qualify for full or partial FUNDAE funding, subject to available credit and applicable requirements. IAescola (registered training provider, code 9900033425) handles the notifications and prepares the documentation; your centre retains its obligations as the beneficiary company.
- 01Registration of the training action and start notification of the group to FUNDAE within the deadlines.
- 02Execution documentation during the course (attendance, assessment, certificates of achievement or attendance).
- 03End-of-course notification to FUNDAE and documentation so your centre can apply the rebate to its contributions.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free AI course for teachers?
Yes. Education authorities offer free training to teachers in state schools: in Catalonia, the Departament d'Educació; elsewhere in Spain, INTEF and the regional education departments. Our course is not free, but for schools with employees it can be funded via FUNDAE (in full or in part, subject to available credit and applicable requirements), and it is tailored to the staff and their material. On this site you can use, free of charge, the guide to AI in education, the school AI protocol and the guide to AI detectors.
Which AI is recommended for teachers?
It depends on the task, and data protection comes before the tool. To draft and adapt materials, a general assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini); to work with your reading list, NotebookLM; for graded exercises, Diffit or MagicSchool. With students, only use tools your school has assessed or the education authority provides, and never upload students' personal data. In the course we choose with each teacher the ones that fit their subject.
What is the AI for teachers called?
There is no single one. "AI for teachers" usually means general assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or tools built for teachers. In the course we cover ChatGPT and Claude (text), Canva AI and Microsoft Designer (visuals), NotebookLM (summarising reading lists), Diffit and MagicSchool (graded exercises), TeachMateAI (rubrics and planning) and virtual tutors built with custom prompts. We adapt the set to each teacher's level and subject.
What is the best course to learn how to use AI?
It depends on what you need it for. If you teach, look for three things: that you work on your own units and exams, not generic examples; that it covers data protection and assessment, not only tools; and that it is aligned with a teachers' digital competence framework. This course is mapped indicator by indicator to the Departament d'Educació's «Competència digital docent en IA» framework (December 2025), as the syllabus on this page shows.
How is this course different from IAescola's course for schools (K-12)?
They are different products for different audiences. The schools course (/educacio) covers responsible AI: deepfakes, cybersecurity, GDPR for minors and critical thinking, aimed at pupils, teachers and families in compulsory education. This course for teachers is about PROFESSIONAL use of AI: preparing materials faster, personalising support and saving hours. If you teach at university or in vocational training, or work as a freelance trainer, and want to use AI in your daily work, this is the right course.
Can individual teachers use FUNDAE funding?
The rebate is claimed by the school or company organising employee training, not by the individual teacher. It depends on the employer being eligible, having available credit and meeting the applicable requirements. Public administration staff have their own training arrangements; self-employed teachers may access subsidised training programmes, subject to each programme's eligibility requirements. We also offer direct payment with a group discount.
How long does the course last?
We set it with you. First we have a free conversation to understand the school, the staff's starting level and the calendar. Then we send you a proposal with objectives, syllabus, hours and schedule, and only then does the training start. It can be an introductory session, an applied course over several sessions or a subject-specific programme with one-to-one tutoring.
What about ethics and data protection?
A full session of the course covers what must NEVER be uploaded to ChatGPT or Claude (pupils' personal data, identifiable assessments, copyrighted material), how to set up education accounts with stronger privacy, ethical criteria for presenting AI-assisted work, and GDPR policy for schools adopting AI in teaching workflows.
