AI training for your adult education centre: the learners, the teaching staff, and the centre's own use
We bring AI into the adult classroom: basic literacy, secondary school certification, access routes to vocational training and to university for over 25s, language and employment. The starting point, without scaremongering
Adult learners already reach artificial intelligence on their own, often with nobody having explained its limits to them. And if your centre uses AI systems in admissions, assessment or other educational processes, their purpose and the obligations that apply are worth reviewing.
Learners are on their own
They use AI for assignments, to write in a language they have not mastered yet, and to prepare for tests. Without guidance, that can end in work handed in without being understood.
The material we reviewed is not for adults
The training on AI in the classroom we reviewed in September 2026 is designed for early years, primary and secondary education. An adult centre deals with basic literacy, secondary certification, access routes, language for newly arrived residents and employability: neither the same learners nor the same goal.
Institutional use has its own timetable
The EU AI Act provides that certain systems intended for admissions, for evaluating learning outcomes, for determining the appropriate level of education or for monitoring exams may be classified as high risk (Annex III, point 3). Those obligations apply from 2 December 2027, and each system has to be examined on its own terms.
What IAescola brings

Initial review of AI use
An inventory of the systems you use, if any, for what purpose, and which organisation carries each responsibility. You get the inventory and recommendations, with the questions that the competent officers need to validate. It is a starting point, not a certificate of compliance and not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions from management
Does this training count as officially recognised hours for teachers?
No, and we prefer to say so before you ask. This offering has no recognition from the Departament for continuing professional development purposes: as a self-employed professional, Julien does not meet the requirements to apply through article 2 of Ordre ENS/248/2012, which reserves it to entities with their own legal personality and not for profit. The main line we propose is the one for learners, where recognition plays no part. If what you need is recognised hours for your teaching staff, we will tell you and point you to where you will actually find them.
Is it eligible for FUNDAE funding?
No. This offering for your public centre is not covered by the FUNDAE training credit, which is for employees of private companies. Training for public administration staff runs through its own mechanisms, managed at state, regional or local level depending on the case.
How is it commissioned?
The head of the centre is the contracting authority (Llei 12/2009 d'educació, article 142.7.g), within the limits set by the education administration. Where appropriate and as determined by the competent body, it can be processed as a minor service contract: estimated value below 15,000 euros excluding VAT, a maximum of one year, and no extension (articles 118 and 29.8 of Law 9/2017). In the city of Barcelona you should check the instructions of the Consorci d'Educació de Barcelona; in municipally owned centres, those of the town council. We provide whatever documentation your school office needs to process it: tax details, a quote and an invoice.
What does the EU AI Act say about our centre?
Two things, and neither is a threat of fines. Article 4 asks for measures that support the development of AI literacy among staff and those operating systems on the organisation's behalf, taking their experience and the context into account; after the July 2026 reform (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744) it sets no specific required level. And certain systems intended for admissions, for evaluating learning outcomes, for determining the appropriate level of education or for monitoring exams may be classified as high risk (Annex III, point 3), with exceptions assessed case by case; those obligations apply from 2 December 2027.
