AI Literacy for SMEs (AI Act Art. 4)
The AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) asks, under Article 4, that an organisation deploying AI systems, including everyday tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, take measures so that its staff understand what these tools do, what their limits are and what risks they entail. It is an obligation that has applied since 2 February 2025, although it sets no specific level to be demonstrated person by person.
About the course
This course covers that obligation in a compact, practical format designed specifically for Catalan SMEs: 2 hours of cross-functional training for your whole team, with no prior technical knowledge required. We work through real use cases from your sector, review AI outputs to spot errors and biases, and leave you with a baseline internal AI usage policy ready to roll out.

Methodology
Compact 2-hour format to minimise operational impact on the business. Combines a clear, jargon-free walkthrough, live demos with the actual tools you use, and hands-on exercises based on real cases from your sector. All staff attend the same session so the company can document one AI literacy measure shared by the whole team (Article 4 of the AI Act). Delivered in person across Catalonia (Banyeres del Penedès or at your office) or live online via video conference. Includes an AI usage policy template, a personal certificate of achievement for those who pass the assessment or of attendance for those who do not (documenting the training delivered, aligned with Article 4) and 30 days of post-training support to answer follow-up questions.

Yes. Article 4 of the AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) requires measures that support the development of AI literacy among staff who use or deploy AI systems. This includes anyone using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot at work, even occasionally. It applies to all companies, including SMEs.

The training is eligible for funding (in full or in part, subject to available credit and applicable requirements) for companies via FUNDAE, the Spanish state-backed training funding scheme, under our code No. 9900033425. In practice, the company recovers the cost, in full or in part, through its Social Security contributions. Yes. Each attendee receives a personal document: a certificate of achievement if they pass the assessment, or a certificate of attendance if they do not. It records the AI literacy training aligned with Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and, together with the AI usage policy template we leave you with, helps you document your team's literacy measures in the event of an inspection or audit; the final legal assessment is for your own legal advisor.
Yes, we travel across Catalonia (Banyeres del Penedès, Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, Girona and surrounding areas). We also offer a live online format via video conference if your team is distributed or you prefer to avoid travel. Live virtual classroom training may count as in-person training if it meets the specific connection and monitoring requirements, and rebates depend on available credit and applicable requirements. Both formats document Article 4 literacy measures equally.
